Kids Menu

A while back I saw a posting on the Petit Appetit blog about restaurants banning kids. I was tempted to leave a comment saying that restaurants don't serve food good enough for kids anyway. Feed your kids at home!

Today I saw that she had another post regarding kids menus. Finally! I am not the only psycho mom who makes sure that her kids don't grow up with carb and fat only. Am I missing something? Why should kids eat mac and cheese? Grilled cheese sandwich? Salty greasy pizza?

Note: The girls are having a cold so I made them a "special tea". Sliced ginger and dried dates were boiled in water until the liquid is spicy enough. Honey was added so the "tea" was sweet and pleasant. Served warm.

They didn't nap this afternoon even though they were definitely exhausted from the zoo, so dinner didn't go too well either. They skipped the cantaloupe all together.

Note: Play dates often disrupts the girls eating schedule. This morning they ate a lot of the tomato and crackers so I decided they could have a smaller lunch rich in protein. It worked out well and didn't require too much persuasion.
